THE 2006 CORNISH SPEED CHAMPIONSHIP

Another successful year with over 50 competitors registered for the Championship again. The series concluded with the last round at St Eval on 3rd September when the final positions were decided.

Without their generous support the Championship could not take place in its present form. Thank you also to all who supported the Championship again this year by registering. We look hope to see you all again next year. Awards and trophies will be presented at the Newquay Auto Club Annual Dinner on Friday 1st December.

As usual all divisions of the Championship were closely fought affairs as the results below confirm. Congratulations to all winners this year, notably Andrew Williams who, after his “sabbatical” in 2005, returned to narrowly win the Championship yet again for a third time. Commiserations to the runners up, particularly Derek Kessell, who looked to be heading for 1^st place only to be “pipped at the post” at the final meeting of the year.  

Attention Competitors! We again introduced a few changes to the Championship in 2006 and already have a few more on the agenda for next year!  We will be holding a meeting before the end of the year to review the current season and discuss preliminary plans for the running of next year’s championship. We attempt to improve the Championship year by year, and as always are happy to also consider implementing any suggestions from competitors .
